She attended Stetson University College of Law, where she earned the rank of Senior Associate of the Stetson Law Review. She was admitted to practice law in Florida in 2001 and dedicates her time and legal skills to the practice of family and matrimonial law.
Ms. Cox is a skilled family law attorney who vigorously represents her clients in disputes over custody and child-related matters, financial issues, paternity, alimony, relocation, post-judgment modification matters, child support, contempt, enforcement and other family law matters. She and her staff work with her clients to understand their delicate family matters. Ms. Cox helps her clients evaluate alternatives to court hearings, such as mediation or negotiated settlements to resolve their family law issues quickly and in the least stressful manner possible. As a Certified Family Law Mediator, Ms. Cox helps some clients negotiate settlements of their family law issues, either before or after they’ve filed for divorce or custody.
Ms. Cox also litigates family law cases where matters are brought to trial before the Court. In extreme situations, she takes action to protect her clients or their children, sometimes asking the Court to suspend or supervise a parent’s visitation, award temporary alimony and/or child support, order a mental health/drug/ or alcohol screening or counseling for the other party and/or provide counseling for the children and/or client dealing with damaging and devastating issues. Ms. Cox understands that each family and their issues are unique, and she is able to tailor her firm’s legal services to suit the client’s individual needs.
